PT. KAMIYA SAW AND KNIFE INDONESIA

Established in April 2014 and operational since October 2015, our Indonesian subsidiary was founded with the goals of bringing Japanese manufacturing to the global stage, developing young talent, and advancing the company’s globalization.
We provide local production as well as maintenance services for cutting tools within Indonesia.
When stepping outside Japan, it becomes clear that what is considered standard in Japan does not always apply elsewhere. In particular, in regions where the culture of “using high-quality tools for a long time” is less prevalent, there remains significant demand for blade replacement and regrinding. Recognizing that our technology could deliver “Japanese standards” and contribute to the local market, we established our first overseas base in Indonesia.

Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, is a major metropolis comparable in size and population to Tokyo. Compared to our initial market research visit around 2012, the city continues to develop rapidly, while also retaining the relaxed atmosphere and warmth characteristic of Southeast Asia.
As an island nation like Japan, Indonesia shares certain cultural similarities, and economic activity—particularly on the island of Java, where Jakarta is located—is highly concentrated.

Our Indonesian base is located in Cikarang, a city in Bekasi, approximately 40 km east of Jakarta. This area hosts one of the largest industrial zones in the country, with numerous Japanese companies operating there. Many of these businesses are involved in the production of automobiles, motorcycles, and related components, contributing significantly to the local economy.

In addition, we have received a wide range of inquiries, including cutting applications for frozen meat in Japanese-style barbecue restaurants, mosquito coil materials, and EV-related components. We are actively expanding our business scope in Indonesia.
By providing opportunities for growth to both Japanese and Indonesian talent and increasing local employment, we aim to contribute further to Indonesia’s ongoing development.
