Carbide Metal Saw / Dicing Process
[Improving Surface Finish and Extending Tool Life]
Client Challenges
・Minimizing variation in surface geometry and kerf width as machining volume increases.
・Improvement of cutting surface accuracy and tool life.
Our Approach
・By switching from dicing blades to high-hardness carbide metal saws, changes in cutting surface geometry were minimized even as the number of cuts increased.
・To ensure more stable tool life and shape retention, the carbide composition was analyzed and optimized, leading to performance improvements.
・By significantly increasing the tooth count and optimizing both the rake angle and blade geometry, we drastically resolved the workpiece grain-shedding (chipping) issue and enhanced surface finish accuracy.
